Statement

I\'m 28, an ex-muslim. I was born into a fairly liberal Pakistani family. Grew up in the middle east & also in Pakistan. Was never religious, in fact the opposite. Alcohol, drugs & raving was the norm for me, until the Ramadan of 2007 came along and suddenly I flipped & turned into a serious bearded, skull cap, pants over the ankles, 5 time praying, proselytizing Muslim.

I did this Mullah stuff for 3 years then I just started getting quite agitated with all the rituals. However, that wasn\'t the reason or leaving Islam. As a serious Muslim I was deep in Islam and was also introduced to philosophy by my scholar friend. I thank him for helping me in doubting (though that probably wasn\'t his intention), and down the line in 2+ years I got stuck on the question of the Jinns & other supernatural claims in Islam and came to the realization that there is no difference between Islamic fairytales & Hindu mythology.
