Statement

I am originally from Pakistan and came to London two years ago. I left Islam when I was in high school. I felt that Islam is not rational. I also found the treatment of women in Islam very discriminatory. Being a student of science, I stopped believing in any thing supernatural. Going up in Pakistan as an atheist was extremely difficult and painful. I had no voice there, I can't openly express my views, I had to pretend that I am a Muslim. I always feared of being treated badly if people come to know about my views. Since coming to London, I feel that I have started living a life without fear of who I am. That I can finally be myself in the society and so not pretend to be someone I am not. I am looking to meet people who have similar views like me.
